TORVIK ESG in Scandinavia
We have recently been to Sweden to meet with investors and gain an insight to the Investment process from their country. From discussions, it is apparent that one key issue is that of ESG criteria, which features heavily in the decision-making process throughout Scandinavia. This was interesting to us because we at Torvik, have been involved in ESG matters from its infancy many years ago when employed within the Fund Management industry in London UK, who at that time, gave little or no concern for ESG. However, with the term ‘ESG’ beginning to become more widely known around the world, and as predicted, sustainability and ESG concerns will further continue to exert pressure on investment committees and corporate investment decision-making going forward.
